The students have created a fictional story with the aim of learning to narrate in the past tense. This activity seeks to foster creativity and teamwork while developing their ability to organize and tell a story.
The groups were heterogeneous and mixed to address diversity. First, we introduced how the past is formed in English through songs and texts, using the inductive method. Once we practiced orally and with simple, practical exercises, we set out to create a story. Each group created their own in order to increase their motivation.
Therefore, this phase was divided into three parts: 1) brainstorming ideas for the story, 2) writing it down in their notebooks, and 3) designing and planning it on the
StoryJumper website.
The students really enjoyed this activity as the interactive and intuitive material encouraged them to work, as well as the teamwork since they helped each other efficiently.
The day after the submission, the students shared their stories with their classmates, narrating them
orally and co-evaluating them through a Moodle questionnaire. As a point for improvement, next
time I would refine the group formation since there were difficulties in some cases.
