In the first image, the people in the library are likely reading a variety of books, including fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, or magazines. Since they are in a public library, they probably chose the books themselves based on their interests. The people in the library might feel relaxed and focused because they are sitting comfortably while reading. Some could be enjoying their books, while others might be studying or doing research.
In the second image, the child and the grandmother are reading a book together. It seems to be an illustrated book, possibly a story or an educational text. The grandmother may have chosen it to teach or guide the child in reading.the grandmother and the child seem to share a moment of connection and learning. The grandmother might feel happy and proud to help the child, while the child could feel curious and engaged in the story.
In the third image, there is an elderly woman reading an e-book. It is inferred that she is enjoying the reading because, at her age, she would not have any obligation to read in this format.
In the fourth image, there is a group of students reading in class. They are all reading the same book, so it is assumed that they are doing it out of obligation. This means that some students may not enjoy the reading process since each child has different tastes.
In the last image, we can see a boy sitting in a park, reading a physical book. We can assume that he is reading a book of his choice and, therefore, enjoying that moment of peace. Choosing where we read is also important, as it allows us to immerse ourselves in a world of fantasy and imagination.
Personally, I identify myself with the boy in the last image because I usually read for enjoyment and relaxation in a quiet place, such as a park or the beach. In this case, I would read both in my native language and in my second language. My readings usually combine both languages and cover different genres, from poetry and novels to academic articles.
However, it is true that the frequency of my reading depends on the time of year. During periods of work-related stress, my reading habits decrease, as I struggle to find the time or the right moment to read. Therefore, I usually dedicate time to reading in the Summer and during periods with less work. The reading format I prefer is the physical book because it helps me to immerse myself in the reading experience in a more real and authentic way.
Hello, Patricia! I share most of your points of view about the pictures given about reading habits. I like what you comment on the choice of people who are reading in the library or the feelings of the girl and her grandmother while they are reading a textbook or an illustrated book. On the other hand, I can sympathise with you when explaining about the different periods of the year to read more often or not because it happens the same to me. Furthermore, my reading habits have changed dramatically since I was a child till now, since in my childhood at home my parents weren't regular readers - my father only used to read newspapers and my mother rarely read something about cuisine. Thus, the atmosphere or context was not the best to love reading. However, during my teenage times I started to appreciate books thanks to my Spanish literature teacher in the high-school. Later on, in the university, I loved English-written works.
